Flyers and Brochures

Flyers and brochures can be a valuable asset to your business. Whilst a business card gives details of who you are and the title of what you do, a flyer or brochure can give more details about your products or services.

Flyer

A flyer is typically a one page promotional item, usually unfolded and is used to bring the attention of the public to an event, service, product or idea. Typically a flyer will contain a very simple message that can be conveyed quickly. They are usually distributed by hand wherever people gather or pass by – for example, at a trade show or at a convention or market.

A flyer usually has a relatively short lifespan as they are normally used to announce an event or special offer, so usually the paper they are printed on does not have to be heavy in weight. But if the content of the flyer is to give specific product information or instructions, it can be printed on thicker paper.

Brochure

A brochure is a bigger print item than a flyer and is a great way to introduce your company to your potential customers.

Basically, a brochure has a specific function….

  • It can be informative, giving information about your business  including your products and services
  • It can be used as an advertising tool. This is a great way to introduce new, innovative products or to promote one or more of your services
  • The brochure can also be used to identify the brand of your business. For example, if you are going to have a series of brochures on different aspects of your business or on the different products/services, a well-done brochure design allows you to maintain your company identity through all your brochures – using your logo, so your brochures are instantly recognisable by your customers

ID-100247363Generally speaking, brochures are not as freely distributed as flyers – usually only given out after some initial interest has been shown by a potential customer. The reasons for this is because brochures are more expensive to produce and it needs to be high quality to do its job.

Flyers and Brochures both have their place in advertising and promoting your business. Please contact me if you’d like to discuss further.
